80'S FANS REJOICE: He-Man Finds A Home

When Warner Bros dropped He-Man after not been able to agree on a direction with toy giant Mattel, many thought new generations would grow up without knowing the evils of Snake Mountain or the coolness of He-Man; a hero who rides into battle on a mighty Battle-Cat, in an amazing world of science and sorcery.

Well fear no more - Variety reports Sony now 'has the power' and alongside Escape Artists plan to "start from scratch" in their plans to reboot the fantasy franchise for the big-screen. As the WB version was based on a script by "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" writer Justin Marks (later re-written by newcomer Evan Daugherty) I'm guessing that's probably a wise move.

Need more of an MOTU fix? Check out the original opening sequence and see if you can resist saying the magic words!

  1. If they're gonna make a He-Man movie, I'd like to see it done ala Princess Bride--a straight adventure story for kids, but comedy for adults.

I mean, how do you have an actor walk around in that costume and play it 100% straight?

    (No pun intended)

  2. LOL Good point Rob - Thanks for the comments!!
