DAVE COCKRUM'S WIDOW, PATY, DONATES COMIC COLLECTION TO CHARITY

In the true spirit of Christmas, Paty Cockrum, wife of legendary artist Dave Cockrum, has given hundred's of comics from her late husbands collection to the charity Kars4Kids. While the non-profit organization usually receives donations of vehicles for which they use to provide for the needs of at-risk youth, Mrs. Cockrum was wrapped her partners estate could help so many children.

Dave Cockrum, who helped define both DC's Legion of Super Heroes and Marvel's X-Men, died in 2006 from complications resulting from diabetes. “Dave loved to help people—he was generous to a fault,” said Paty, “He was extremely happy that the characters he created—such as Storm, Colossus and Nightcrawler—became a part of the childhood memories of millions of children. He knew that was his legacy.”

If only we could all do the same. For the full press release click here, for more info on Kars4Kids visit their website.
