Everyone knows if you are going to build a house in Dubai you need a bit of coin in your back pocket. If you want to build a theme park based on the 'House of Ideas' that is Marvel Comics, then you are going to need over $1billion and some kick butt creative concept art like the below from the Chimera Design company.
A joint effort between the Al Ahli Group and Marvel Entertainment, Inc, the Marvel Super Heroes theme park is set to open 2012 (depending on the fallout of Disney's acquisition of Marvel of course). Maximising Marvels full character library to theme "new technology and unparalleled visitor experiences" the park is divided up into four lands "City of Super-Heroes", "Oasis of Magic", "Marvel's Mythic Mountain", "Nick Neighborhood" and "Crater Lake", with off-site testing having already begun on three planned attractions: "Flying with Spidey", "Fantasticar" and "X-Men: Danger Room".
