On first thought Batman: Under the Red Hood sounds like Bruce is swapping his infamous set of wheels for a classic '57 Chevy, however according to the Comics Continuum, director Brandon Vietti states the next installment in Warner Home Video's animated films is "...definitely the darkest movie I've worked on for DC".

Based on the comic-book story of the same name, which brought the original Robin's successor back from the dead, the animated movie is also written by the same author; Judd Winick, and produced by Bruce (Batman The Animated Series) Timm.

While plot specifics are sparse, stepping up to voice the flick are actors; Bruce Greenwood as Batman, John DiMaggio as the Joker, Jason Isaacs as Ra's Al Ghul, Jensen Ackles as Red Hood, and Doogie Howser himself - Neil Patrick Harris - as Nightwing. The movie will also be presumably backed up by the second of DC's secondary character spotlights: Jonah Hex.

For those who want the first glimpse Under The Red Hood, the LA Times state a preview will be included on the Justice League DVD Crisis on Two Earths, out February 23rd.

  1. Wow - that's somewhere I didn't expect them to go - I am definitely looking forward to this one!

  2. Thanks for the posts guys and welcome to It's A Dan's World Bubbashelby!

If I had to have picked the next animation I wouldn't have picked this little number either. I'm suprised that it wasn't a version of 'Hush' as that features so many iconic characters.

Still it will probably be somewhere on the 'to-do' list I guess!
