Four shots of news to round out the week that was, assembled right here when it comes to THE CRUNCH.
  • Captain America director Joe Johnston says the film will start in the war-torn 1940's then summersault to the modern day. Loving the 'sitting round drawing all day' aspect of preproduction, he says 'It's a case of money doesn't matter and anything goes. "Let’s put all the greatest stuff up on the wall and [then later] see what we can afford."' Jump

  • Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson, has done his first interview in 20 years. Talking on the strips cancelation, he said "It's always better to leave the party early. If I had rolled along with the strip's popularity and repeated myself for another 5, 10 or 20 years, the people now "grieving" for "Calvin and Hobbes" would be wishing me dead [...] And I'd be agreeing with them." Read the historical full interview after the Jump.

  • Marvel's third teaser for the upcoming x-crossover to end all x-crossovers; Second Coming, features the words 'One will rise' and both the light and dark versions of Phoenix. Me, I'm just happy ol' Jeanie is returning. The X-Men without Jean Grey, is like Destiny's Child without Beyonce, and that's just not how you play cricket. See the teaser after the Jump.

  • Sticking with Marvel, Marvel.com has been the latest website to join the growing number which feature a 'bonus' activated by entering the Konami Code. If you are like me, and your fingers never worked fast enough on those old console games to enter "up, up, down, down, left, right. left, right, B, A" then enter, you'll want this link to see the 'added extra' at the website of the House of Ideas..
