Three shots of news to round out the week that was, assembled right here when it comes to THE CRUNCH.
  • Well Emerald City Comic Con hit Seattle over the weekend, where it was announced Marvel it was 'calling it quits' on its Spider-Woman title and its digital comic adaptation. While I understand conversion delays scuttled the 'motion comic marvel', I'm still thinking Jessica could've spun quite a web if the good ol' paper and ink version was allowed to continue.

  • Speaking of the House of Ideas, they've posted up a FREE sketchbook of writer Jonathon Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Leonardo Da Vinci, Issac Newton, and other great early minds as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Galactus? Nick Fury? And just wait till you see Dustin Weavers character designs, like Nostradamus below they are truly ahead of their time - and all after the jump

  • To us 'Kiwis' he'll always be 'Jake The Muss' from Once Were Warriors, but now Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett in Star Wars to everyone else) has signed on as Abin Sur in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. Principal filming for the flick started today in New Orleans, in a watering hole renamed for the film as 'Broome’s Bar' after Hal Jordan's creator, John Broome.

  1. Hey Dan - what about Tem's other great role as boat captain in Speed 2? LOL.

I hope his character is short 'cos Tem only stands at about 5' 6"

And the S.H.I.E.L.D thing - you're speaking my language! I have been a fan of Nick Fury for 20 years now!

  2. Other great role? Aren't you forgetting someone - 'Dr. Ropata'?

As for S.H.I.E.L.D - yip Nick Fury's definitely on board for this one - not sure in what role, but I'm thinkin' this could well be one of the years best mini's if the teaser is anything to go by!

    Thanks for the post!
