NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Cooke's Frontier Part 1

Splash pages, you gotta' love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can take the break off their pencils and hit the reader square in the face with a large does of illustrated 'wow'. This week a slice of one of the most stunning comics ever produced, the splash page friendly DC: The New Frontier - written and illustrated by Darwyn Cooke.

Yeah, it's another Superman splash but what a splash page it is. New Frontier had this amazing visual knack of summarising what was and is so cool about so many of the folks running around the DCU in one hit - just like this.

Every second week leading into Christmas, I'll be posting a splash from this mini-series, highlighting the fact that not only is DC: The New Frontier a true "must have" for your collection, it looks pretty good sitting under the tree for anybody else as well.
