LIGHT IT UP: The Full Length Green Lantern Trailer (Video)

The full length Green Lantern trailer is here. Just hold your hand out like you're reciting the GL Oath and click play... In Brightest Day...

"Make yourself at home... there's water in the tap" - now that's hospitality! Plus those scenes of Oa are just crazy. With so many Lanterns, floating round I'm going back in to check it out again. Your thoughts?

  1. Dan, i'm really not too sure what to think about this movie. i can say that i wish the mask was more like the version on Kyle Ryner's costume just like the in that kick ass DC game trailer. i don't know man i still would rather see Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan.

  2. I'm with you David. Not completely sold on Ryan Reynolds as GL either. I've liked him in just about everything else he's been in, but not sure he fits what I expected for this role. I'll definitely be in line at the theater to see it though.

  3. I know. Nathan Fillion would have been so perfect. Have any of you ever seen those "I'm a Marvel/ I'm a DC" shorts on Youtube? They did one with Deadpool and Green Lantern and they mention the whole thing about Ryan Reynolds playing both of them. It's pretty funny.
The movie looks like it could be pretty good, actually. I'm going to be optimistic. You know, up until the point where they shatter my dreams.

  5. Thanks for the comments folks and welcome to IADW Aliera!

The movie trailer does look pretty sweet to me too, I still can't watch those Oa scenes enough. Bradley Cooper was my original choice for Hal (Nathan Fillion is a great pick David!).

To me it's just odd hearing Temuera Morrison voice Abin Sur. Tem is a kiwi actor who is famous here more for playing 'Jake The Mus' in "Once Were Warriors" over the Fett's in Star Wars.

Hearing the guy who became world famous in NZ for for lines like "Cook the man some eggs" tell Hal to save the universe takes a bit of getting used to. But hey that's acting :D

  6. Fillion would have been great. I'm hoping the rumors that were floating around months ago turn out to be true and he'll be joining the Avengers cast. I think it's just wishful thinking at this point.

  8. Dan's got a nice place here. Great images, lots of good info. Over at DB.com it's just us Derosby Brothers verbally crapping all over each other(and Dan shows up quite a bit too).

  9. Glad you guys enjoy IADW and play key parts in the community that's building!

Speaking of services David, while I used to smuggle comics into "religious instructions", todays young-un's with ipads and the like, could easily be busted reading blogs in church. Time has definitely changed... Just when I needed another reason to feel old :D

Like the Starscream Craig! Folks remember to checkout Craig and his brothers by clicking on DerosbyBrothers.com in the link list on the left!

  10. It is a lovely place to be. This and the Suicide Squad and ROM (ahem David) are three of my "to hits" in the morning with my coffee. I always love it when I find names I'm starting recognize under the comments. It's nice to know other people obsess over this stuff.

And on that point...Nathan Fillion in the Avengers?

  11. That was the rumor floating around just prior to ComicCon. Rumor was Joss Whedon was bringing him on board to play somebody. Speculation was Ant Man. I'm still holding out because I think that would really round out the acting talent they've already assembled for what promises to be an amazing movie.

  12. That would kick major heiny. Giant Man deserves to be in the movie - he would make such an amazing visual and he's a founding father.

Plus Giant Man - it's as retro comics as it is retro hollywood!

  16. I watched the CB&A trailer yesterday afternoon. I liked what I saw. Harrison Ford playing age-appropriate roles? What the hell is the world coming to?

  17. Here is the link Dan..I think is cool..looks like Daniel Craig is going to give us one hell of brutal fights

  18. I like him as the new Bond. He really goes above and beyond in those fight sequences.

  19. Yes he really changed the face of usual James bond being a little bit soft, though i think Pierce Brosnan was good as James Bond. Daniel Craig take the action aspect of it to another level with more brutal hand to hand combat. Too bad James Bond movie is on hold

  20. Daniel (awesome name that) Craig took bond to a whole other level. I L-O-V-E Casino Royale, easily one of the best action films of all time IMO so will definitely check it out in theaters based on his involvement alone.

That leaping scene at the start, I still can't get over.

  21. The costume looks kinda iffy, but its not like I'm going to miss this movie anyway. :)

  22. Personally, I don't see how you could have an Avengers movie without AntMan/Giant Man. Really. But they rarely respond to my phone calls on these things, even after I've changed my phone number.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They dont respond to mine either RN - I tried to squeeze the Scarlet Witch in so when the rights return to marvel there's already grounds for X-Men vs The Avengers the movie, but yeah nada response. Maybe I oughta hire a sky-writer?

Ya know Rob, speaking of the costume, for a while there I actually thought they were going to run with something more like Kyle's duds before Hal came back, and it kinda seems like they went 50/50. I'm just glad they left the white gloves in the shop.

  24. The Scarlet Witch would be the perfect one to do that with, too. Her power would make it plausible, because they've shown in the comics there's pretty much nothing they won't make up on the spot that it can't do.

As to the costume, guys, it might just be that mask is the one that fit his face the best. In the comics you can make any mask fit any face and not look stupid if you're a good artist. In the real world you have to work with silly things like existing bone structure.

  25. I'd love to see the Scarlet Witch on the screen.

I'm not a big fan of the mask either. I'd almost rather see just the glowing green eyes like they did on the Justice League cartoon.

  26. I get the whole secret identity thing, but to me it always was ironic the GL Corps had masks. It was like the police were ashamed of being law enforcers.
