MAKING A MARK: Simon Eckert

Every Sunday, Making A Mark features one of the insanely talented artistic folk currently living up large, giving them a little brag spot here on IADW. This week it's German cheesecake and character design artist, Simon Eckert!

While some folks look down on the term 'cheesecake artist', talent is talent, and to follow in the iconic footsteps of Adam Hughes, Dave Stevens and Terry Dodson is no mean feat. While he also does a mean amount of character design and fantasy illustrations, Simon is a whizz with the ladies... just see for yourself...

Remembering your Julie Newmar/Catwoman crush phase are ya'?

Simon's Ms. Marvel try-out for Marvel Comics' C B Cebulski.

And more ladies! Two female character designs and Skeletor's right-hand women - Evil-Lyn. Is the Masters of the Universe revamp moving forward yet?

To see more Eckert awesomeness, visit Simon either at his own personal website or over on

  1. She does look startlingly like Julie Newmar! Wow! I love that picture. I would kind of like comics to go along with those two other characters though.

  2. The steampunk characters are really sweet. I love the Ms. Marvel pic the best though.

  3. Thanks guys - glad you liked Simon's work!

Steampunk is always a good look don't you think RN? I wonder if Chris Bachalo will ever return to his Steampunk world?
