NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Bizarro vs. Batzarro

Splash pages, you gotta' love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit the reader with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This week in this corner of the globe has been very... bizarre, so thaks to the always dependable Ed McGuinness, here is a double page spread to match.

I love Superman's rouges gallery. From Metallo right through to Mr. Mxyp... Mr. Mzyptys.... Mr. Mxyut... Darkseid, there's not one I wouldn't cross the road to read about - and Bizarro is definitely one of the ones worth more shoe leather than most (click to enlarge).

It's always good to sit down and try and figure out his dialouge or just crack-up at his reverse approach to life. What do DC do to add to my joy (and that of a few trillion other fans?) Create Batzarro - well you would wouldn't you?

  1. So Dan, did you just not feel like googling Mxzptlk, or was that put in for comedic effect? Although the comment about going out a lot makes me wonder what it would look like if these two ever hit the town together. Got their brewsky on. On second that, that would probably cause a few problems. Beautiful splash page though.

  2. Lol I wondered if folks would ponder that! Just for laughs it tis, Google and I are best mates, especially when it brings up IADW anyway :D

If this 'Worlds worst' duo hit the town it would be crazy. Just like if there was an IADW visitors party - in Bizzarro theme! Now there is an idea!

  5. I'm sorry Dave, that was a bit of a cheap shot. We've got our own brand of bizzaro up here in the tundra, so I really can't throw stones.

  7. close, Maine. We're about 4 hours from the border. We're a bit further north than Minnesota (I think we're the northern-most of the continental US) but they get the lake-effect weather.
