THE BEST PULP COMIC EVER RETURNS

Until Criminal came along, if I wanted a great non-superhero comic I stuck with Vertigo, and boy I was pretty brand loyal. So much so, I almost passed up what has become my favourite comic on the stands, when it is on the stands that is.

This June, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips Criminal series is back with it's latest instalment; The Last of The Innocent. Touting the mini series as "the ultimate crime comic", here's a two page preview of the self contained storyline that shows being 'Not That Innocent' isn't just a line for Ms. Spears...

  1. Oh wow. That looks awesome. You can almost hear Humphrey Bogart's voice. I might have to look this one up if I get a chance.

  2. holy shit! those panels up until he pulls that knife pretty much describe my day to day mood at this point in my life. i really like the art work here. the heavy shadows really add to that "life sucks" kinda mood.
