RANDOMLY AWESOME MUPPET TATTOO

I still can't decide what I'm getting on my left shoulder.

As a graphic designer by trade I should make my own, but I keep looking for other peoples art to save me. Flicking through the interweb for inspiration, I stumbled across this wee ditty and have to give skin artist Andrea, from Slave To The Needle, instant street cred for pulling off the meanest band in the land...

  1. holy crap that is the most awesome thing I saw all week. The color is amazing...so vivid. The Muppets rule.

  2. i watched the Muppet Show as a kid some times but i outgrew the whole thing at a pretty early age and immersed myself completely in the world of Marvel & DC. so this isn't at all the sort of tattoo i would ever get from a subject matter stand point. but there's no arguing the workmanship. especially when it comes to the color and details. plus i think the curvature of the shoulder helps make the image pop. well Dan think it over real good what you want cause tattoos are a bitch to remove. it's not the most painful thing i've ever gone through but it's no fun either. and the removal process ain't cheap either.

  3. Amazing work. Unlike Dave I never completely outgrew the Muppets (never really grew up) so I'd get this in a heartbeat if I could.

  5. Glad you like it Jay - I thought it was pretty sweet too! Getting colours to stay that bold is a skill in itself!

and you're right - the Muppets do rule. I don't think I could ever grow out of them. Especially the two old dudes in the balcony. They always crack me up.

Yip Dave - I sure am thinking about long term designs - that's part of the reason why it's taking so long to decide!

Maybe just an animal tattoo would be okay.

    Thanks folks!

  6. This is one of the best tatoos I've ever seen!
Both the theme and the execution are amazing. The details are incredible and I always like Animal.
About the two old men at the balcony, I know some people just like them. Reality imitates art and tatoos imitates the Muppets.
    I miss their show.

  7. Aliera I've got about 7 or 8 DVD's, 3 remastered episodes on each one. My 4 year old Izzy has claimed them, and insists I gave them to her. She watches at least 1 a day.

  9. I have the best of the Muppets on VHS - Hows that for age!! The episode with Elton John has to be the best - back in his feather boa days he actually looked the part!

Then there was the day Luke Skywalker, C3PO and R2D2 guest starred - talk about your ultimate crossovers!

  10. Izzy loves both of those episodes, but she's got her favorite. On Halloween, one of the rock radio stations was doing a holiday playlist and the intro to "Welcome to my Nightmare" started playing. She starts yelling "It's Alice Cooper daddy. Remember, he sang this on the Muppet Show". I was so proud.
