MAKING A MARK: Carlos Taylor

Every week, Making A Mark features an insanely talented person, giving them a little artistic brag space right here on IADW. This week, the painted gallery of one Carlos Taylor, a man whose comic book based portfolio includes these wee painted beasties;

The fact art showcasing this much love and talent can no longer go unhidden thanks to the internet is justification for the net's creation in my books. So often fans are too modest about the skills of their own pen (or in this case brush). But look what guys like Carlos can achieve, with comics as their inspiration! Awesome.

For more of Carlos's great work, visit his online gallery after the jump.

  1. That Hawkman piece rocks. When done right, Hawkman can be as visually imposing as Batman, but he's rarely presented like that.

  2. I completely agree Rob! You'd think a guy with wings and a Horus-based helmet would be a more imposing visual 24/7, especially among gargoyles, but those folks at DC seem to prefer their millionaires with little millionairing to do.

    Makes me wonder if on DC's Photoshop there's an 'insert Batman' filter. Not complaining - just wondering...

    Thanks for the comments!
