NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Space Where No One Can See Magneto Strike A Pose

Splash pages, you gotta' love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit the reader with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This Friday the master of the majestic; Magneto, done by the master of modern comic art; Jim Lee (Click to enlarge).

Forget Chris Claremont's knack of filling every spare space with a speech bubble or word balloon, Jim Lee's art has helped the 90's X-Men stand the test of time. As strong and as sure as Mags stands here.

In fact if Jim's new home at DC fails to chuck him on a Justice League relaunch or the Legion of Superheroes (whom Lee is a major fan of) before he hangs up his pencils, it will be one of the biggest crimes in four colour history. Can you imagine Darkseid done like this? Wowza.

  1. Jim Lee is one of my favorite artists and I have definitely been leaning towards DC the past couple of years. I cannot wait to see what projects he ends up working on.

  2. Thanks for commenting Anthony! Jim Lee is oe of my favourites too, and like you say hopefully his new position won't stop him from jumping behind the pen and pencil anytime soon!
