THE TUESDAY TUSSLE: Chris Bachalo vs The Fury Of Firestorm

The Tuesday Tussle; the biggest illustrators squaring off against pops biggest icons - icons you thought they'd never touch. This week Chris Bachalo, the man who made Death look attractive to thousands of fans monthly tackles Firestorm, freshly nuked and radioactively hot after his role in Brightest Day. Fight!

WINNER: Bachalo. I love Ronnie and his alter-ego, but art like this should never be limited to a trading card.

Granted I'm a bias ref, but show me one that isn't! If this doesn't illustrate the shame it is Chris hasn't done much DC work these last few years, I don't know what will. Hot damn it's good!

For more Chris Bachalo cool, head on over to the jump.

  2. Sure is Random! I just wanted to get a bit more Firestorm stuff up and running. Most folks point to Peter Parker as the teen hero they related to in comics growing up, for me it was Dick Grayson and Ronnie Raymond with a little Speedball on the side.

When I found out Firestorm was done by Bachalo it was instant post material!

  3. For me it was the New Titans. It seems impossible, now they never existed :(

  4. Yeah Aliera - that's mainly where I identified with Dick Grayson as he went from Robin to Nightwing.

I think defining what stories are still in continuity and what aren't is more of a danger to DC than anything else regarding the new 52. Did Green Arrow and Green Lantern still hit the road? Did Crisis on Infinite Earths still go down? Will be interesting to see how they pull it off.
