2 SLEEPS TILL DC 52 Preview Art: Cliff Chiang On Wonder Woman #1

Continuing the visual countdown to the biggest move in comics since grim'n'gritty, I want to show off a few pieces that will put Wonder Woman #1 at the top of your list, all by the ultra talented hand of artist Cliff Chiang. First up, these two actual preview pages;

Writer Brian Azzarello's take on Diana was a key part of his Superman: For Tomorrow run. Having Cliff join him on pencils for me, made this form a 'love at first sight' trinity with Swamp Thing and Action Comics. As for Chiang's history with the character, take this awesome moment from the pages of the recent The Brave and The Bold series;

If only JMS's run on Wonder Woman continued in that vein... And to add the finishing punch, Cliff's Joan Jett inspired Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Batwoman and Zatanna rock group.

  1. It was worth dropping by today if only to see the Wonder Woman as Joan Jett pic! Now THAT would be a Wonder Woman re-boot!!!

  2. I loved it too.
    Indeed, a less formal Wonder Woman would be for me, a plus for the character.

  3. Thanks guys - yeah I have to admit my favourite Wondy stories are when she's less of a princess - in both aspects of the word - so a more brit-pop rocker Wondy would be a decent revamp indeed!
