THINGS I'LL MISS ABOUT THE OLD DCU DAY 4: COVER RUN: Alex Ross On JSA

Cover Run celebrates the awesome work of the cover artist elite. With a post a day this week dedicated to what I'll miss most about the existing DCU, Cover Run makes for a convienient way to salute the efforts of the home of 'legacy' - The Justice Society of America and the covers done on the title across series by the painter Alex Ross.

If the dust in your room is suddenly making your eyes water at the same time these covers make you think of all the awesome toys being placed into the 'unknown fate' box of DCnU, you're not alone - but we're also not yet done...

I just realised Dr Fate never got a poster cover! Hopefully that's beacuse in the interior he also kept a low profile and not because to Alex he is the Society's Firestorm!

With so many jaw-dropping numbers in the mix, it can be hard to find "the best". However this one always delivers that tingly feeling in stronger doses then all the others, so I'll leave the text off and just let it shine;

As for the individual JSAer's after DCnU kicks in, Karen Starr will appear in the pages of Mr Terrific. As to whether she will still be Power Girl or not, only time will tell.

  1. I hat tipped your series of posts on the DCnU on a post that will appear on my blog on 8/11 - hope you'll check it out.

    Again I say, his art should be hanging in a museum. Seriously. He does what Rembrandt or da Vinci (or hell any of the Old Masters) would be doing were they alive today. I do not believe that I am exaggerating when I say that the man is a genius.

  4. OIf it did Pensol it would have to be one that toured the globe - I'd never forgive the museum folk if his Superman took out a whole Museum feature wall and I couldn't see it at that size!

    Hopefully in the interim he'll be happy with this showing at IADW - do ya think? ;D
