THE TUESDAY TUSSLE: Alex Garner vs The Gotham City Sirens

The Tuesday Tussle - the biggest illustrators, squaring off against icons you never thought they'd touch. This week Alex Garner, the man whose cover art muted the Wonder Woman costume change riot, tackles The Gotham City Sirens; Ivy, Catwoman and Harley. Fight!

WINNER: Garner. Alex says he looked at the work of Adam Hughes in researching this piece, but I wouldn't be surprised if AH! scrapbooks this trouble-making trio for his own reference in future!

It rocks how he juggles three of pop's biggest females, without having anyone of them dictate or take priority of the piece. Plus look at the size of the mallet Harley is hauling round - that'll leave a bruise!

This print was created for SDCC 2011 - so keep an eye out for anyone who brought a few spare! For more of Alex's work, click the jump.

  3. Oh, that's a keeper. That has to be one of my favorites that I've seen so far. All of them are absolutely stunning! Now if we only knew someone who lived near the SDCC every year...and actually went...

  4. Thanks guys! I thought it was an awesome wee number myself. Truth be told this is one of the few visuals that have made the Sirens work for me. Personally I don't see Selina as someone who would work in a team, but here she fits in perfectly!

I agree rRandom - maybe there should be a rent a SDCC visitor company - so you can hire someone to go to SDCC, get goodies for you and then post it your way when they are done....

  6. That's a date, Craig. By that time, we won't even need to find babysitters!
