The Tuesday Tussle; the biggest illustrators squaring off against pops biggest icons - icons you thought they'd never touch. This week Paulo Siqueira, the Brazillian who has everyone's spider-sense tingling with his work on Marvel's wall-crawler-verse, hits the true leader of the Justice League of America - Black Canary. Fight!
WINNER: Black Canary. Seriously, is this not the best DC's super-siren has looked? Lets see them have her play second string to Ollie now!
Since I discovered Paulo's online gallery, this shot of what I still consider DC's most unsung female hero has been my desktop wallpaper. And God help me if each day my wallet doesnt mistake it as an issue #1 teaser and bolt for the door, just so it can throw itself across the comic store counter to reserve a copy.
Check out Paulo's portfolio, just click DC's true 'Wonder Woman'.
absolutely amazing work. Love his take on the costume too.
ReplyDeletei'm with Craig on this one! there's so much to love about this illustration but i really really like the way you can see a little bit of her fish net stockings just about her waist line. hot!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys - glad you liked it as much as I did!
ReplyDeleteI just like how confident and strong she seems too! I hate when she's drawn too soft or fragile - she's a martial artist for pete's sake! She should look like she could even take Bats on - and here she does!
I never understood that "her coming after him" thing.
ReplyDeleteDinah second string to Ollie? Please...
SHE is fierce.
Couldn't. Agree. More.
