NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Aquaman Says 'Buy My New Book Or I'll Rip Up Your X-Men'

Splash pages, you gotta love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit you with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This week, a jaw-dropping reminder that the new Aquaman book is up next and you really don't want to be missing out on Ivan Reis art/hur - especially when he's drawn like this;

Yeah, that's right - some splashies don't need words (although having Geoff Johns at the writers desk means if there were to be, I'm sure they'd be great!). This is an Aquaman that means business.

Despite the fact Aquaman's first foes in his latest digs will be The Trench, who look like a race of piranha people (gotta love comics!), this seems to be DC's flagship book in the return of fun iconic heroes.

The only way you'll know if I'm completely, horribly, utterly wrong? Picking up Aquaman #1 to find out.

  1. Wow, it's rare these days that someone quotes John Byrne.

  5. Thanks folks!

    Pbl - I think that She-Hulk cover is one of the industries under-rated all time best. I mean who wants to mess with Shulkie?

    That's bittersweet to hear iok - but glad DC's gambit seems to be paying off!

    Aliera, I think you might've found a name even Aquaman in his decades of history hasn't been called as yet. Let me know what you think!

    Dave - something tells me with Ivan on his book and Jim Lee on the Aquaman sub title Justice League that's only going to continue!

    Other than that he is a regular good old chap.
