Anyone working on anything filmed in New Zealand soon finds themselves quickly adopted as ‘one of us Kiwi’s’. The cast of Spartacus: Blood and Sand is no exception. As a result, today came national new flash bulletins that actor Andy Whitfield, the title role holder and 'Spartacus' of the hit franchise, has passed away.
His manager Sam Maydew, says the Welsh-born actor died on Sunday from non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in Sydney, Australia. While any passing of this nature is a tragic and sad loss, it is small comfort Andy’s wife Vashti said to media her husband left this world on a “sunny Sydney morning” in the “arms of his loving wife”.
Andy Whitfield was 37.
