MAKING A MARK: Dave Rapoza - Re-igniting Franchises One Samurai Pizza Cat At A Time

Twice a week, Making A Mark gives an insanely talented artist some IADW brag-space. Today goes to Dave Rapoza, a 24 year old American artist whose series of portfolio portraits featuring faces of franchises past, make old heroes and villians seam so real, only your mother can comfort you they are not...

With his realistic series of prints on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a sold-out success, Dave has turned his attention to Eternia - and for the time being specifically Snake Mountain. He even Livestream's some of his process work, so you can see how all his artworks come together!

Not exactly a forgotten franchise at the moment, this Thunderstrike-ish take on Thor was done in tribute to the end of the sensational blog Thor Thursday. Once almost as frequent, Speedy Cerviche, the Samurai Pizza Cat to the Thunder God's right proves while some franchises fade from sight, their theme tunes will never be forgotten!

Mer-Man's not so laughable now is he? Just look at those gills!
