Sometimes kids have to deal with issues even adults should never have to face. 7 year old Matthew Grammer is one of those troopers, fighting the good fight against being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2009. When the Make-A-Wish crew got in contact with Matthew, his request was one many sci-fi fans hold in their heart - he wanted a drivable R2-D2 suit. Wish made... wish granted...
No strangers to building Star Wars based items for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Little Mountain Productions was contacted to make Grammer's dream a free-wheeling reality. Controlled by a simple joystick and giant on/off buttons, the LMP team even built a kill switch into the exterior, should R2 ever get a little too possessed by the force.
Making these kinds of wishes come true is truly the work of real life heroes, and hats and Vader helmets alike come off to the team at Little Mountain Productions for making a suit made to order. Great wish Mathew! Here's hoping the remaining treatments continue to go well, and both you and your parents keep having your hopes and dreams fulfilled!
