HER MAJESTY'S BEST: Queen Invites James Bond To Open The 2012 London Olympics

James Bond is more then the world's greatest secret agent, under the advise of 'M' he does whatever he can for Queen and country. Now it has been revealed, after a personal invitation from the Queen herself, Daniel Craig, the current 007, will kick off the greatest show on earth by opening the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Directed by Danny (Slumdog Millionaire) Boyle, Bond's opening sequence will take him from Buckingham Palace to the Olympic Stadium, via Helicopter, parachute and no doubt large doses of drama and the odd fisticuff inbetween.

Currently shooting the next Bond film Skyfall, this video opening titled The Arrival, may even feature the Queen herself.

While it would be a trick if England also managed to pull in Robert Downey Jnr to portray the nation's other great fictional hero currently enjoying a revival; Sherlock Holmes - and have the two British icons meet - having the Queen and 007 at the starters mark already puts London level with opposing Beijing for the gold medal of greatest opening ceremony ever.

  1. How can you be the greatest spy when every terrorist in the world knows your name, face and social security number?

The event really does sound like a blast and I'll be on the lookout for the opening of the games.

And Bond is the number1 spy in the world hands down. Even if no move he ever make is a secret.

  2. Daniel Craig rocks! he was great in Munich, Road to Perdition and Casino Royale. i love the torture seen in Casino Royale. nothing more bad ass then being able to be a smart ass with the guy who's torturing you.

  3. Thanks guys!

OA - yeah popularity does come at a price I guess. But maybe it just enhances your game, when your rep is for bad assery! Like you I'll definitely be watching for how this all shakes out.

Dave - There's one movie from the list you mentioned that I'm surprised doesn't rank with you - Defiance. Rent it - I think you'll really like it! He definitely is one hell of a talented dude and sure has Bond nailed!

Who would he play in a comic based movie?

  4. yeah i've seen Defiance it wasn't bad but i like Munich much more. thanks for the comment on the ROM blog i'm glad you liked my latest posting. speaking of New Warriors and other cool shit did you get my emails?

P.S. i'll have to get back to you on that comic book movie.
