MAKING A MARK: John Aslarona - Art's New Prince Of Powerful Portraits

Twice a week, Making A Mark gives an insanely talented artist some IADW brag-space. Today goes to American, John Aslarona, whose power with portraits is more than picture perfect. Combining stark barkgrounds with high detail, don't feel embarassed if his work feels so lifelike you introduce yourself to a couple - remember click to enlarge!

With his amazing digital work on both Daredevil and Archangel, you can imagine how stoked I was to find two of my ultimate characters heading his gallery in it's first few pages. Now if only the two would team up in the pages of Marvel's actual books!

Now there's your proof the classic Green Goblin look could have still worked in the Spider-Man films! John sometimes runs under the handle 'Photoshopismykung-fu' and Norman Osborn leaves no doubt. It's hard to find a picture of the Joker looking more insane than this! Speaking of Spidey's rouges...

From one level of crazy to another, nothing beats a rabid Venom. While John's gallery also takes on Star Wars, DC and more, Marvel is definitely where he has hit the majority of his home runs. One of the standouts from that 'more' section I was talking about;

 What do you think?  How has John's work impacted you? Sound off below in the comments section or click here for more great Making A Markists. To see Aslarona's other fantastic faces, including Yoda, Mystique, Beast and a whole lot more, visit his website after the jump.

  1. Damn!

    That Goblin is perfect, as is the Daredevil. And the Mrs. would love to have that Archangel print. And it's not often you get Battle of the Planets fan art. Nice find Dan.
