NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Nightcrawler's Death And The Bamf Heard Around The World

Splash pages, you gotta love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit you with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This week, I'm currently in a bit of a Nightcrawler funk. I miss the real Kurt running round Marvel (if not his own team of X-Men), so I thought I'd post the splashie that brought it all to an end, from Uncanny X-Force #26.

Despite the fact that the death of one of the central X-Men has had as much impact on the current slate of books as the shoes Rouge wore in issue #201 of Uncanny, artist Mike Choi did a mighty fine job here.

Succeeding, but ultimately failing from trying to save Hope from the clutches of Bastion in the storyline Second Coming, Bastion was rebooted shortly after, the original Nightcrawler still not as yet.

  1. Nightcrawler died in a book not titled X-Men? Doesn't count!

    Impressive splash, though.

  2. I'd subscribe to that logic Martin! He's one of Marvel's most under rated icons. He just can't be killed. It's as simple as that.
