DEAL OF THE WEEK: Dress Like Spidey On July 4th - Get A Free Burger

I don't know about you but if it wasn't for work requiring me to wear a dress shirt between 9 and 5, I could quite happily live in a Spidey costume (plus a decent pair of sneaks) all the live long day. I mean what's not to love? The original is a comic fashion design staple and when you just want to avoid people who irritate you, it has a handy all-encompasing mask you can just pull down over your face.

No wonder them folks at Carl's Jnr are offering a FREE Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger to any fine follower of fashion who shows up on July the 4th in spider-threads (just maybe not those Spidey-boxers you haven't brought yourself to part with just yet). Hopefully that also applies to ladies dressed as the Black Widow, because from where I sit that kind of behaviour should be encouraged too.

Be warned though - no masks allowed. Which means not only can you not get a free burger, eat, then return (face it, that was your plan), nasty nogoodniks can't use the day to rob the place in the process. Not that there wouldn't be enough grilled cheese powered arachni-heroes on hand to stop said villainy anyway.

  1. Is it wrong to say that the chick in the spider-man costume is hot?

I guess congrats on Hardee's for jumping on the Spider-Man movie promotion bandwagon, but I'll be honest, I'm just not that interested in it myself. I liked Sam Rami and Toby Maguire's Spider-Man, but then again that's just me. I think it's too soon for a movie reboot, but then that's why I'm not working in corporate.

  2. Yep I could live in a Spidey suit!
I remember dressing in a Spidey suit as a child then putting my school clothes over the top. At school I showed a select few friends my "real identity"... true story.

  3. Thanks for sharing Marcelo! One of my earliest memories of school was playing make pretend in the playground with the boys and my mate Paul always being Luke Skywalker. I'd always state I wanted to be Iron Man but back then no six year olds knew who the hell he was, so I'd always end up running with Batman instead. Nowadays they probably know better. True story.

Dale I'm surprised Spidey has swung round again so soon too (see what I did there? Talented huh?) But I guess that's to keep rights possession from Marvel Studios or something. Personally I think if just the established characters keep being used the public will tire of comic movies even faster. That's why Guardians is such a great deal.
