MARVEL NOW: One Big Marvel Reshuffle - One Giant Marvel Teaser (Updated)

Like a Sicilian family at a party, Marvel knows how to make some noise. Only days out from Comic Con, the publisher has gone to entertainment source EW (issue out July 3) to get the drums beating on it's post Avengers vs X-Men universe. Kicking the article off, a whole new type of teaser on the upcoming Marvel NOW, one your eyes will keep staring the hell out of long after your body is done.

Thor with swords, Jean Grey, black'n'gold Iron Man, Nova, Rocket Racoon and look at those awesome new designs for Hulk and Cyclops! With new Marvel Universe jumping points to be released between October and next February,the article goes on to tease three of the 'Marvel NOW' new titles as;

Uncanny Avengers (w Rick Remender, a John Cassaday) Featuring Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, Rogue and Havok. “Havok’s always been the black sheep rock-and-roller of the Summers family. He can’t do that anymore. You’re going to see Havok become one of the biggest players in the Marvel Universe” (Oct).

Avengers (w Jonathan Hickman, a Jerome Opena) biweekly title of an 18+ strong team. One team member revealled; Shang-Chi, master of Kung Fu (Dec).

All-New X-Men (w Brian Michael Bendis, a Stuart Immonen) the original X-Men return, none to pleased with what they find (Nov).

The DC52 happened. The Image Revival followed. Now the Sicilians that are Marvel already have butts groovin' along to their beat, and some of the biggest hits as to how, what else and why still lay ahead.

 What do you think?

  3. I'll be the first to admit, I no likie! It's unnecessary and just a rip off of DC. Marvel's supposed to be better than that.

  4. Hmmm. First impressions are that it reminds me of Marvel in the 90s. All fur coat and not much else underneath. Don't like the homogeniesing of all the differing strands that's being hinted at. Rogue in the Avengers makes me weep...

  5. Thanks for the comments guys! With such long runs onCap, Iron Man and others currently in progress, I did think a bit of muical chairs was needed creativly, but I've still got my fingers crossed this isnt a universe reborn like DC52, and a continuation of the same history.

    I dig that Havok is set to get his due, as he's always been a hit of mine, and Quesada has stated there's a reason Sue Storm is in the main picture, and that makes me stoked too as most know I'm a pretty big Fantastic Four fan.

    However I am with you Robert the blurring of Avengers and X-Men divisions does make me sad, adding to that the news first villain Red Skull is going to employ his Nazi tactics into hunting mutants. Really? Does the Red Skull just work fine as he is bringing his own form of terror to all mankind not just mutants?

    But John Cassaday on art for Uncanny Avengers? Hot!

    Shang-Chi in the Avengers is hot and long deserved after his stint in Secret Avengers.

    No doubt there will be a lot more on this over the next few months!

    Thanks again all!

  7. So am I O.A. so am I!

    Aliera, it looks that way. The original Jean Grey from the X-Men's earliest adventures is time travelling to the present. As to whether our time's Jean is returning as well, well that seems a bit more of a mystery.
