THE ONE THING I CAN'T DO WITHOUT: The Full Iron Man 3 Trailer Hits Close To Home

'Outdated' It's a term Tony Stark consistently fights against. While yesterday's 13 second teaser trailer is now as useful as Iron Man mark I, today's release of the full first trailer for the upcoming motion picture marvel is Hulk-buster Iron Man, ready to deliver some savage blows to both audiences and Stark himself. Mandarin menaces, and is that War Machine as the Super Patriot - or someone more sinister? Suit up and hit play right here to see what I mean...

  1. Like I said, can't wait! This sequel will be better than the 2nd, and might even rival the 1st one for excellence!

Hopefully, with the gauntlet laid down, the other sequels will match this in execution and brilliance.

  2. Me too Dale! I like the fact Tony is struggling to readjust after being involved in a war the size of the Avengers. In a way this is a nice respective tribute to how hard it must be to our armed forces to do the same after seeing war firsthand themselves.

  3. How much harder must it be for Tony, who aside from the most recent activities, doesn't have much experience with war? He mostly pops in and out with individual one on one battles. Now he has a full scale war under his belt, and all the repercussions associated with that. I like that they're not just ignoring it. I'm more excited about this than the new Superman movie, honestly. (Although a tiny part of that is because of Robert Downey, Jr. Hey, I'm a chick.)

  4. Yeah, you're absolutely right on that one Dan. And I'm glad the movie and its writers are acknowledging that. If that shit happened in real life, you damn right Stark and anyone else associated with that would have a hard time dealing and adjusting to the reality of what they just went through, like Randomnerd said, our troops themselves are dealing with. War is hell, and Stark's going to meet one of the devils in the Mandrin.

  5. Thanks folks! I think that is why the trailer strikes such a cord with the first movie. That was about tony realising his weapons were being used to kill and create war, a war he never saw the face of until he was captured as part of it. Now he faces the same kind of realisation, in the fact that despite building himself to be all he could be, it wasn't enough and couldnt do it alone.

While thats the core of the Avengers, for Tony Stark, not being enough, isn't enough. Add to that the horror of what he went through, and the themes of the movies in a way have come full circle.
