RANDOM WORK OF WOW: Ben Olsen's Venom

Sometimes you stumble across a portfolio where the artist only has a couple of comic based pieces, other times there can be just one work so brilliant, you'd risk being stoned to death by fellow art lovers for putting something else beside it. These are Random Works of Wow, and illustrating the point this week is Ben Olsen with Venom.

Sure Eddie Brock's symbiote partner looks like he's been spider-punched in the face one too many times, but how much of a wicked twist does that give Peter Parker's ultimate nemesis  And just look at those rows of shark-like teeth! 'Lethal Protector'? Marvel, you don't know the half of it.

What do you think?  Sound off below, click to enlarge or view more Random Works of Wow here. To see more of Ben's art, including a Thing vs Hulk you just have to see, visit his website after the jump.

  1. I love this, especially those teeth. It has a real Alien/Geiger feel to it.

  2. Craig, I was just thinking that. It gives that same gut wrenching "ewww" feeling coupled with awesomeness.

  3. I agree folks - and the straight up and down face does something too. A great painting for sure - maybe just not for when the lights are off I guess!
