MYTHOLOGICAL INK: God Of War Tattoo Gives The Killer Look

Frank Miller is a talented dude. How many people dug Spartan history prior to his graphic novel 300? Not long after, Sony took mythology on a whole new crusade, combing the thought of a Spartan army inside one man with the Ghost of Sparta, Kratos, in God of War. The most addictive series of video-games I've ever cursed my nerves through.

While Kratos is yet to square off with Miller's 300 (which sounds like a great beer), both have amassed legions of fans that make that number seem tiny. Dedicated fans, ones who get fear-inducing skin-art of their favourite Spartan emblazoned upon their bodies, like this;

Done by tattooist (and fellow Melbourne-ist) Benjamin Laukis, you don't even need to see the opposition to know whoever they are, they're in trouble. Maybe next time DC do a God of War comic Benjamin could try conveying the same level of atmospheric attitude on paper so more of us could own a copy. Ya' know, if Frank's not busy.

 What do you think?

  1. It always kind of freaks me out when hey tattoo wrinkled skin on non wrinkled skin. I feel like I'm looking at some unidentifiable body part.
    Still, the art here is fantastic. You'd have to REALLY love the game to want that face on you for the rest of your life.

  2. I'll say Random. I'm so lucky I didn't go through with that Sonic Hedgehog tattoo oh so many years ago. Mind you my fav game has always been Tetris. Not the best tattoo though. If I had to go the video game route, I'd probably run with someone from Final Fantasy VII.

  3. video game wise, I'd probably get an N7 on my shoulder from Mass Effect.
    But a Tetris tattoo would only be cool if you did it all over like that puzzle tattooed guy on that episode of X-Files.
    Oooh, you know what would be neat? A Global Frequency tattoo. Then the Global Frequency would be on YOU.

  6. You're not the only one Craig! I'm looking to post tattoo art more regularly here, so don't warm up the needles just yet!
