NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Major Bummer Steps Outside

Splash pages, you gotta love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit you with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This week, it's a fairly straight forward splashie from one of the best and funniest comic series of all time, DC's Major Bummer. More people need to read/miss this book. Not only was it actually funny, it was drawn by Doug Mahnke of JLA and Green Lantern fame.

While there were only 15 issues of this slacker-superhero printed, they were all creative and humourous in ways few at the time or even now have been. If your life is in need of a few decent bru-ha-ha's that will have you going for weeks, hunt down these issues at your nearest back issue bin today.

  1. Major Bummer [giggle] sounds like one of the first homosexual superheroes!

  2. Lol Karl, I never even read it like that before. Though this book was pretty good at laughing at itself. Had it been allowed to continue it mightve even referenced that itself!
