RANDOM WORK OF WOW: Eric W. Meador's Rocket Racoon

Sometimes you stumble across a portfolio where the artist only has a couple of comic based pieces, other times there can be just one work so brilliant, you'd risk being stoned to death by fellow art lovers for putting something else beside it. These are Random Works of Wow, and illustrating the point today is Eric W. Meador and Rocket Racoon.

While this may be a tribute to one of the best comic movie posters of all time (The Rocketeer), with the Guardians of The Galaxy movie now not so many light-years away, something tells me there will be a lot more fan art of this little guy in the near future.

What do you think?  Sound off below or to view more of Eric's awesome artwork click the jump.

  1. I loved the Rocketeer. I loved the movie poster, the art deco lettering, the stylized drawing. And amazingly enough, I actually kind of appreciate Raccoon here blasting off in that direction.
By the way, I saw Wolverine yesterday, and I liked it. I really appreciated Yukio, and her edgy image update. Very in the spirit of the character.

  2. never been a rocket raccoon fan but i have to admit this is clever.

  3. Random, The Rocketeer is one of my all time favourite films, and it's one I can put on for visitors of any age group to enjoy, and watch it beside them and still be entertained too. Jennifer Connelly is just brilliant.

Glad you liked The Wolverine too, looks like it drops into the plus column! Did you stay for the after credits scene?

Dave, as far as homages go, this one is pretty awesome. Mind you, both characters had me at 'jetpack'.

    Thanks for the comments!
