WHEN GOSSIP GIRL MET X-O MANOWAR: Kindle Worlds - Royalties For Fan Fiction

Is the next great Unity saga within you? Can you get through an episode of Gossip Girl or The Vampire Diaries without saying 'I would've written it this way..'? Welcome to Kindle Worlds. A publication platform where you can write 'fan-fiction' based on a variety of popular books, TV shows, comics and more - engage an audience - and get royalties for your work!

An amazing initiative by Amazon, Kindle Worlds is literally a first edition, no one else offers money making opportunities for work based on existing copy-written material. Breaking ground on bringing a long ignored form of writing into the spotlight, Kindle Worlds could discover the next Joshua Dysart or Fred Van Lente!

Wildly talented wordsmiths the world over, your time is now. Licenses on offer for you to expand and show your wares upon include Warner Bros. Television Group's Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and The Vampire Diaries); Valiant Entertainment (Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, and X-O Manowar); Hugh Howey's Silo Saga; Barry Eisler's John Rain novels; Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines series; and more, with even more on the way!

What do you think?  Find all the info on publishing your story about what you love via Kindle Worlds after the jump. To visit the storefront and look through the works as they become available, click here.

  1. I'm not gonna lie, I'm tempted as all hell to write a Shadowman story :). I finally got through every Valiant trade and found only Shadowman was lacking... Yet it was the kind of book premise I want in my top 10 favorites. So, not saying I can write better, but the Kindle Worlds offers fans the opportunity to at least contribute to ideas they're inspired by. Instead of saying they can do better, here's an opportunity to put your ideas to the test. X-O is amazing, Bloodshot won me over big time on Vol 2, and Harbinger is superb. Valiant, as a business, is just extremely refreshing in the industry!

  2. You should do it Nuno! You do and I'll do a post on your story here on IADW. I've actually had an idea for X-O ever since Joe Quesada's art got me to give the comic a try. If more peeps out there are like us, Kindle Worlds will be the place to give those ideas legs!

As for the actual Valiant being refreashing - I couldn't agree with you more!

  3. I read fanfiction. I cannot lie. Mostly about video games like Mass Effect, etc. It's really amazing, after you wade through some crap, how good some of the writers actually are. And how often I find myself thinking they should have been hired to write the story that way in the first place.

  4. The best fanfic I ever read Random remains today as my definitive Two-Face story. It's that good. Hopefully using tv, comic and movie properties, Kindle Worlds can be just as successful!
