WHERE'S HER GOLD BOOTIES? Baby Dubbed 'Flash', Born After Mum Struck By Lightning

On the Fourth of July, you are meant to get a buzz out of watching fireworks fill the sky, but for Kendra Villanueva and boyfriend Ian Gordon, the charge they received doing just that was of the worst kind imaginable - all three of them were struck by lighting. Yes, three of them, Kendra was pregnant.

While Gordon suffered a ruptured ear drum from the lightning either entering or leaving his body, Villanueva's bleeding finger pointed to where the insane amount of electricity had exited hers, yet her mind was only on one place. From Yahoo News:

"I woke up and I didn't think she was going to make it for sure,” Villanueva said. Luckily, first responders in the area were minutes away and got to the couple quickly. Villanueva had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section. Her baby was born and although doctors aren’t sure yet, they think Kimberly Samantha Rose Gordon will be fine.

And she has definitely earned her nickname. "Last name's Gordon, so little Flash Gordon,” Gordon told station KRQE."

While Jesse Quick or Elektra would have been a great first name for this lucky wee girl (Electro if it had been a boy obviously), Flash Gordon has piloted many a womb shaped craft through peril and survived intact before. Though distilling her nickname down to just 'Flash', you have to wonder if DC's Barry Allen got mastery of speed after being struck by lightning and covered in chemicals, what powers Samantha will be blessed with, after being hit with the same and covered in new baby womb gue?

Only time will tell I guess, thankfully above all, her and her family still have their lives to find out.

 What do you think?
