THE COMICS' BEAT: Galactus And Silver Surfer In Cannibal Ox's 'Battle for Asgard'

Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. As a former DJ, each Monday I dig into my collection, and chuck up a hit nodding to comics' best.

This week, it's Cannibal Ox with Battle For Asgard. Now with a title like that, you'd think it was another Marvel powerhouse in the mix, and while the rap does feature Thor, it's the random plug of Galactus and a hint of The Silver Surfer that really draws the applause.

"We mind-bogglin', spine-tinglin'
Got the stroll of Galactus now I'm planet-swallowin'
Megala's got the surfboard and he's hollerin'"

  1. Damn Dan! I don't where or how you find these Super-hero themed rap/rock/pop songs, but keep it up!

You can safely mark this down as another illegally free download just to flip the middle finger to 'The Man':)

  2. Trust me Dale, from Vertigo Comics to Zero Hour, my comic related music playlist scrolls for ages! I'm just trying to make sure I week the weekly choice varied in genre and character choice, which reminds me - we've only done Marvel folk so far.

Long story short - glad you're likin' the feature cos I sure like makin' them.

  3. I've never ever heard of this. Wow. Nice one Dan-o. :) Thanks for the heads up. One more in the nerd list.

  4. Please keep doing this then! Someone besides me's gotta inject some music around this comic-dominated blogsphere;)

  5. No worries Random, next week we look at an X-Man, but not the one you probably think.

Dale does that mean we are a musical duo now? Like Simon and Garfunkel? 'Dan and Dale' - now I know why Daredevil has had DD on his chest all these years - it's been an omen of musical genius to come! ;)

  6. I can see the t-shirts and action figures now guys. :)

  7. I reckon Random. Dale on lead guitar, me doing double act on tamborine and the triangle (so people know when each song is done... or is that when it's time to turn the page? Damn read-along books!).
