SWEET AS: The Best From Archie Comics' December 2013 Solicitations

When we Kiwis find something we like, we say it's "Sweet as". From The Red circle series The Fox to the zombie based Afterlife With Archie, when I'm looking at the best and new releases from Archie Comics for December 2013, these comics here make the 'Sweet As' grade:

 COVER OF THE MONTH:
JEFF SHULTZ  BETTY AND VERONICA #269

This cover wasn't my first pick until I saw it large, then it struck me. Sure it's a take on a famous image, but as America's leading ladies of comics, Betty and Veronica have more war-time appeal than the iconic lady on the original posters.

This issue: An Archie Comic first: An entire story happening in real time (well, comic book real time that is)! Find out what a typical day is like for Betty, Veronica and Archie! Follow along with the infamous love triangle as we get a peek into the typical day of a Riverdale teen-with not so typical outcomes!

(W) Dan Parent (A) Jeff Shultz

 JUMP ON POINT
Mega Man #33
(W) Ian Flynn (A) Gary Martin

Find out why Mega Man is the icon he is here, as the crew wind down from their last big challenge, in an action-packed story set to spark off an all-new adventure!

The battle against Ra Moon has ended and Mega Man's fate is in doubt! Dr. Light must work to repair and restore the super fighting robot to his former glory. At least he's got Dr. Wily's help. Wait! Why is the evil scientist helping to save the Blue Bomber?

RETRO COOL   Sonic vs Dr Robotnik

Okay, so Dr Robotnik was called 'Dr Eggman' in some places, but if you were any decent gamer in the 90's, this clash hogged more of your daytime hours than any Mario Brother ever did!

Here that rivalry is back, with one exception; I'm not looking at the screen yelling "Jump! Jump! Left! Come on go left!!"
