THE COMICS' BEAT: M.O.D.O.K. In Monster Magnet's 'Baby Götterdämmerung'

Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. As a former DJ, each Monday I dig into my collection, and chuck up a hit nodding to comics' best.

This week, I thought it was time to let another villain take the stage, and what better rouge to make a showcase of other than M.O.D.O.K., the floating giant head? Who?

"Now face the music, son, some people live to remember when
But you're no storage space, you've lived a dozen lives since then
So what would M.O.D.O.K. do if his memory got too full?
He'd find a power source and then he'd pick what plugs to pull"

  1. You can never go wrong with Monster Magnet Dan. Didn't know they gave a shout-out to M.O.D.O.K. though. Space Lord and the song "I had a dream last night" from the Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack from '95 was my first exposure to them. Whatever happened to them? They just...disappeared.

  2. My Bad, it was the Butthole Surfers that did "Whatever" from that soundtrack. Shit, what happened to them as well?

  3. Where have bands gone Dale? I'm still trying to pronounce this song's title - so anything harder might be a bit beyond my reach! Glad you liked the track though. Maybe some bands could cover all these comic tracks and make a CD - call it 'Like A Version' or something and sell them at Cons. Would be pretty cool don't you reckon?
