NOW THAT'S A SPLASH PAGE: Bloodshot's In

Splash pages, you gotta love 'em. A blank canvas where the artist can hit you with a large dose of illustrated 'wow'. This week, I'm posting a splashie from the first issue of the latest Bloodshot series from Valiant, by pencillers Manuel Garcia and Arturo Lozzi;

Sure it was an epic moment where an obliterated Bloodshot revived in the enemy morgue and got back into action, but what's more, it is a pretty sweet tribute (intentional or not), to The Terminator

Bloodshot looks like he's just emerged from those blue time travel lightning balls of the original movies, and having this high-octane series nod to one of the most famous, perfectly set the tone for new readers as to what they could (and still can) expect in the future.

  1. Now that you mention it, he does kinda look like he's striking that just-emerged-from-time-travel-bubble-pose.
    The rest of the issue as good? As if I had to ask;)

  2. Bloodshot #1 sure showed off Valiant's not afraid to get gruesome, that's for sure Dale! Of all their characters, BS (probably shouldn't run with those initials but whatevs) is the most like an action movie in print, and it sure showed that here.
