THE COMICS' BEAT: Superman In 3 Doors Down 'Kryptonite'

Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. As a former DJ, each Monday I dig into my collection, and chuck up a hit nodding to comics' best.

This week, with this mornings post on beer, I thought I'd chuck up a beer-drinking song every drum player I know fears having to play. With it's eternal drum rolls and 'I remember where I was when this was big' moments, here is 3 Doors Down with Kryptonite.

"If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman?
If I’m alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand?
I’ll keep you by my side with my super-human might - Kryptonite"

What do you think?  Full lyrics are here. To buy, visit itunes.com and back here Monday for another Comic Beat!

  1. don't know that song but I recognize that art work from a Superman cover shortly after his return during his long hair era. it was a great cover and the issue had this funny scene in it where this woman call Superman Fabio.

  2. Thanks Dave - surprised you haven't heard Kryptonite yet, maybe it was just southern hemisphere radio stations that thrashed it's American beat at every opportunity.

Ha! Fabio! The image may be softer than the song, but I liked that era of Superman. Grummett, Kesel, Jurgens. It was a great time, even if he had been to MacGyver's hairdresser!

  4. January 2000 it was Mr Bagwell - yip time sure flies. It was a demo song originally too, but ended up being one of the first releases of the new milen... milleniu... century.

Glad you realised Dave - thought you'd have heard it. It was pretty inescapable for a looooonnnggggg time. Holding your finger down on the same key for ages is so much fun.
