Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. As a former DJ, each Monday I dig into my collection, and chuck up a hit nodding to comics' best.
This week, probably a shocker for some fans of both Batman and music, a dancy, zany Riddler dedicated hit, sung by the man who played the arch-villain on the Adam West Batman TV series, Frank Gorshin.
Now while you will be surprised at how many riddles can fit into a song - not to mention how many insane laughs you can add to a 70's beat - Frank's voice does have a decent swing sound to it. Hit play and see what you think...
"What do you call a sleeping bull?"
What do you think? To buy, visit itunes.com and back here Monday for another Comic Beat!

Well, shit.....
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff Dan. I don't how the hell you found this, other than the insane magic of youtube....or a spare record your mum might have. I could easily see people trying out those horrible puns on other people at parties....Oh Frank Gorshin. Reminding us all he might've made a better Joker after all, but he'll always be the Riddler to us.
Orange Maramalade......Sweet christ.....
Thanks Dale! It was Frank's Riddler that made the character my top bat-rouge, but I didn't find this track until I went looking for Riddler costume pics to help with a fancy dress party costume back round 2003. Talk about surprised!
ReplyDeleteI picture the backup singers looking like the shows henchmen everytime I hear it - and you're right that laugh does give Mark Hamil's Joker a run for its money!
