THE COMICS' BEAT: He-Man In LL Cool J's 'My Rhyme Ain't Done'

Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. As a former DJ, each Monday I dig into my collection, and chuck up a hit nodding to comics' best.

This week, it's a one man actor/performer combo I've always liked, LL Cool J. The upbeat big-guy creates a comic book band in his lyrics to My Rhyme Ain't Done, with Spider-Man, Hulk on drums (naturally), Charlie Brown and Snoopy. A few others get name dropped in the comic heavy verse, a verse that starts with He-Man doing this;

"Woke up late one afternoon, realized I was in the world of cartoons
He-Man told me he'd beat me up, because he thought that I looked like Donald Duck"

 What do you think?  Full lyrics are here. Be back here next Monday for another Comic Beat!

  1. And why does He-Man want to beat up people that look like Donald Duck? Does Donald owe He-Man money? Or is that after all those years of dealing with Orko, he's lost his shit?

  2. That would probably do it Dale. Or if Donald played 'hide the power sword'. Actually that sounds even worse than the innocent game I was meaning!!
