UNITE THE SEVEN: 1st Jason Moma As Aquaman

Today, Jason Moma as Aquaman from the March's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, thanks to Zack Snyder's Twitter feed. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!! Momoa's Aquaman looks like a carnal badass — grittier, darker, and rougher than the clean-cut blonde in the orange suit that we've come to know. More 'Conan' than 'Super Friend' and man does it pay off!

The hashtag "unite the seven" seems to mean the members of the Justice League, meaning we could see Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) soon.

 What do you think?

  3. @King: Right!? What's he gonna' do? Superman punch the Ocean Master, and spear Black Manta?

A big no from me on thi casting choice. I know he was picked soley for the movie-going auidence, and I get that, but no.
    He's not Aquaman.
Look, I'm all for divesrity and all, but Aquaman's a blonde-haired, white guy with fins on his calves. That's Aquaman.

This is the Samoan, Conan the Barbarian-hook-handed version from an altenate world. not Aquaman.
All Warner Bros has done is give yet another reason not to watch this abortion of a Superman sequel that more and more has less to do with Superman, and instead is a 2 hour-long plus commerical for a Justice League movie.
I know they're trying to play catch up to Marvel, but this is redonkulous!

    1. HA! Yeah- then they'll put him over, even though no one wants him in The League, and he'll get boo'd when Black Adam comes out to vouch for him.

I just love the idea of how a live-action scale-shirt is just too "stupid", but scale-tattoos are totally not?
How much you want to bet he loses his hand/gets the hook in the movie? Superman will probably heat-vision it off, like a Lightsaber, in their fight.

    2. I have no problems with this new look at all. Like Wolverine's yellow, Aquaman's gold would be a pretty big eyesore on screens. It's odd seeing fan reaction though - I mean when was the last movie where Batman had undies or even a blue cape? DC gets such a hard time in any of it's movie moves compared to Marvel/Fox. I guess what is okay for Magneto, Storm and Nightcrawler isn't okay for Aquaman?

I think 'Man of Steel 2' will be another film, so I'm liking Dawn of Justice. I don't think of it as Marvel catch-up, as they seem to be approaching a shared universe in separate ways. This movies goal is to use the Groundhog Day of repetitive Superman Batman features to actually start showing off other talents in the DC chest like Aquaman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman and that is LONG overdue.

I will never forget that Ant-Man bet Wonder Woman to theatres.

What works in Print doesn't always work in film, and the last thing I'd want is people going into theatres and walking out going, 'well nothings really changed since superfriends'. If that means dulling down the colours of the costumes so they don't look like 'The Wiggles Save The Earth' then that's okay with me.

    3. Oh dear lord, not the Wiggles. *shudder*. I'm never going back! You can't make me!

    4. Oh, don't get me wrong Dale- I've always disliked Batman's movie rubber. And the X-fetish-Men's costumes were awful.

Now Cyborg is a design they can really play with- I bet he's gonna look amazing!

Nah Dale, this is exactly what the doctor ordered to save the character from his Superfriends rep. He looks great and I can't wait to see him up on the big screen. This flick might just be DC's Star Wars!

  5. Okay. Yes, I love the bright primary colors of the original Justice League. Yes, it would have been cool to see those on the big screen. But hey, just because Jason Moma played Conan doesn't mean he can't play Aquaman. The guy can act. I've seen him act. And newsflash, he looks good here. No, he doesn't look like the comic, but he does look like a good version of the character, and if I have to swallow Affleck as Bats, it'll go down a lot easier if I have an actor like Moma looking badass as the king of Atlantis (an area he actually has history in). Now, if it comes out and he sucks, then I'll be all over that like my white ass on rice, but, just judging from this poster and his past acting, this doesn't seem like a bad thing to me. In fact, it's the first thing about the JL movie that doesn't leave me wincing. (I will admit to slight female partiality. Dude is hot.)

  6. Footnote: I'm totally okay with scale tattoos.
