There's something about Ant-Man beating the likes of X-Force, Deadpool and She-Hulk to the big screen that makes me chuckle like I did when Blade was announced.

This poster turns that laugh into an aww of awesomeness. Not only does it remind me of the poster to Darkman for no real reason, it's packed with small details you can't help but dig.

The fact the top credit links the film to the humour of Guardians of the Galaxy rather than the not as good but more current Avengers: Age of Ultron. The helicopters hunting our hero and the small little Ant-Man on the Marvel logo. Then there's the fact Hank Pym fans like myself are being reminded our Ant-Man is here too, by referencing his name on the top right.

Now if only one of those suit jackets had 'Alchemax' stitched on the pocket.

  1. I'm not sure exactly what to make of this one. It's surprising as shit to me that this beat out Dr. Strange and other top A and/or B-Listers, but it is what it is, and I like Paul Rudd and his comedy movies that can be serious at times.

I honestly hope it does as surprisingly well for Marvel and at the box office, as Guardians did, but it's still....Ant-Man, so we'll see.
I am curious as to who that bald guy is in the bottom right corner. Is he supposed be Egghead, the same guy that menanced Hank Pym?

  2. I hope for one thing in Ant-Man - him slip the pym particles in reverse and have a Giant-Man image stomping helicopters through the city. I would kill for a Marvels-ish kind of scene like that :)
