MOTHER-BOX MADNESS: New God, Orion Fan Film Surfaces

Anyone who walks into my apartment can see I'm a New Gods fan. Mr Miracle, Orion and Metron are visible as soon as you walk in the door. Now Jack Kirby's Fourth World has been brought to computer-generated life by fellow fan Mario Escudero, whose time and efforts show exactly how much multi-media potential the Dog of War and DC's ultimate comic concept actually has.

The scene of Orion falling out of an explosion in the sky and punching a Parademon scout repeatedly during the fall to earth is worth the cost of admission alone. Hopefully with a Darkseid headshot work in progress on his blog, but not in the below fan film, this short won't be without sequel for long.

 What do you think?

  1. HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! Wow. Beautiful, beautiful animation, lighting, graphics, etc. Bonus points for using Orion and featuring him in his original pre52 look as well.
You don't have to be a New Gods fan or even a Kirby fan to appreciate this little piece of awesome, but I'm sure even the King himself would be proud.

  2. Thanks Dale - yeah I'm pretty sure this is one of the best fan efforts I've seen - including against live action. It reminds me of those Kirby styled episodes of the 90's Superman cartoon that took place on the fourth world. Gloomy atmospheric and Orion is one hell of a butt kicker!

Hopefully Barda, comes to save him from this episodes conclusion - I mean, we have to see Darkseid now right?
