Hopefully DC posts a remberance statement or message soon, and not just one confined to the pages of their monthly mags.
I think every comic fan has a soft spot for Batgirl. Especially for Batgirl / Oracle, and that is in part due to the groundbreaking work Yvonne Craig brought to the character in the third series of the 60's Batman TV show.
Before Lynda Carter was a Wonder Woman, Craig kicked her way to super-heroine royalty and helped create the iconic version of the name 'Batgirl' that Dan Jurgens illustrates so well in this weeks splashie.
While I only remember vague flashes of the show, I do remember the difference she brought and how instantly hooked I was on the character of Barbra Gordon. We even had the same birthday (although a few years apart)!
Having lived a life that included dating Elvis and doing her own stunts, Craig died this week after a long two-year battle with breast cancer. She was 78.
