PREVIEW OF THE WEEK: Hercules #1

Some openings show you the author has it sussed. The original X-Men movie springs to mind - those grey nazi concentration camp scenes of oppression and the birth of Magneto... you knew right away the producers were on the right track. Here, in the case of the preview for Marvel's Hercules #1, that feeling is given by author Dan Abnett,  artist Luke Ross, Hercules and a playing card. No, not the Ace of Hearts, check it out below.

Marvel says: “Still going Strong” The World’s first super hero decides it’s time to get back in the game, protect the innocent, defend the world, and generally remind everyone why he set the mark for heroism in the first place. Make way… Hercules is back! The greatest son of Olympus is thrown into the fight against threats ancient and modern, and Hercules demonstrates that a legend, no matter how strong he is, survives on his experience, and his ability to move with the times. A modern world, an age-old hero… and blockbuster action!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  1. I hope he makes a successful go of this because it really has been a long time since he's been given a chance in the spotlight.

  2. Yeah and hopefully it is a bit more mythological action orientated than before. Having helmed Guardians of the Galaxy to success, I'm thinking this could be a sleeper hit.
