THE COMICS' BEAT: Judge Dredd In Human League's "I Am The Law"

Mondays. They are worse than Dr Doom and after a heavy one, it can be a little hard to get the drum pumping again for the week ahead. In The Comics' Beat, I chuck up a musical hit saluting comics' best.

This week, not only did they sing catchy pop songs about being 'Human' and asking 'Don't You Want Me', Human League also produced an entire song devoted to Mega City One's top cop, Judge Dredd.

From the album Dare comes "I Am The Law" which is the obvious title for anything Dredd really. See the music video for this track on the next page.

  2. Nice. Didn't know they wrote a song about Judge Dredd. You know I always like the name "Human League", but their music, other than their one hit, seemed very hit and miss to me.

  3. ANTHRAX has been the only thrash metal band i ever liked. to no surprise the song is called I AM THE LAW it was part of their late 80s album Among The Living. here's a video of it with the lyrics that you can read although unfortunately the song plays to the Stallone Dredd scenes going on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVvvdM8sjkM

  4. Hey Dave - yup sure do, I have about seven more Judge Dredd related songs to get too, and I just scroll for ages through the Batman ones - Anthrax is deffinitely a classic Judge track - and thanks for checking it was on my list. Like you Im not a trash metal fan, but it works!

Thanks Dale - It's always funny there are bands like that for me too. I liked the name Fine Young Cannibals but I couldn't tell you a song for anything. All I know is there lead singer now fronts tv commercials for a bank here.
