NAD AWARDS 2017: Best Comic Movie Soundtrack Chills

Danny Elfman once had the 'Best super-hero movie soundtrack' title all to himself, until Watchmen and Guardians of The Galaxy ushered in a new era of decent commercial music-based competition.

Combing the best of both worlds as only DC can, one of my favourite 'comic' moments of the year was nestled at the start of another Danny Elfman masterpiece; Sigrid's cover of Leonard Cohen's Everybody Knows opening Justice League.

In one giant leap, the song's lyrics and stylings capture the attitude, atmosphere and animosity of a world without Superman. A fresh folk choice in the face of the default pop picks most would imagine for a film about the 'World's Greatest Super-Heroes', this move by director, Joss Whedon still gives me chills when I hit play.

 What do you think?

  1. While I don't care for the movie itself, that is a pretty damn good cover by Sigrid. Well done.

  2. Isn't it though :) Take that Adele!
